6 Week Writing Course
Finding the story only you can tell
If you’ve ever felt the tug of a real-life moment asking to be written down, this six-week course is for you. Together, we’ll step into the rich, surprising world of creative nonfiction — memoir, personal essay, travel writing, biography and the many forms in between.
Each week, you’ll be guided through writing exercises, readings, and craft discussions designed to help you shape experience into story. We’ll look at voice, structure, imagery, and how to bring truth to the page in a way that feels alive.
You’ll write regularly, share work in a supportive small group, and receive thoughtful feedback on every piece you create. It’s a chance to explore your memories, observations, and ideas with company — and to discover what rises when you give yourself permission to write.

Masterclass
For writers working on bigger projects, these intensive workshops break down obstacles and help develop your work to the next stage. With a focus on structure and voice, this course sets writing deadlines, delivers individual feedback and offers valuable strategies to set you on the path to completion.
Wednesday evening, fortnightly, 6pm-9pm.
Returns May-July 2026 in person and online at Avoca Beach.

Learn The Art Of The Short Story
Do you have a true story you’d like to set down? An event, a discovery, or a moment in time?
In this 4-week course you'll explore how writers play with language, imagery and scenes to create compelling short stories alive with meaning and resonance.
Discover what it is you want to say. Learn how to weave together facts, feelings and reflections to develop your own 2,000 word story that will speak to others.
4 workshops | 12 hours total, plus editing of 2,000 words | Fee: $500
